Requirements
Thoughtful Enrollment for a Safe, Structured Environment
At Wiggling Tails, every dog is part of a carefully managed, consistent community.
Our requirements are designed to support a safe, balanced environment where dogs can thrive physically, socially, and emotionally. Each guideline plays a role in maintaining the structure and stability that define our program.
Who We’re Designed For
Wiggling Tails is best suited for dogs who benefit from routine, structure, and guided social interaction.
Our program is a great fit for:
- Small dogs under 45 lbs
- Dogs who enjoy being around other dogs in a supervised setting
- Puppies and adult dogs ready to develop or maintain healthy social skills
- Families seeking consistent, ongoing daycare (minimum 2 days per week)
Enrollment & Scheduling
Wiggling Tails is a membership-based daycare program.
- Minimum attendance: 2 days per week
- Consistent weekly schedule required
- No drop-in daycare or one-time visits
Consistency allows dogs to build familiarity with their environment, caregivers, and social group—leading to better behavior and lower stress.
Temperament & Evaluation
All dogs must complete an evaluation process prior to enrollment.
This allows us to ensure:
- Your dog is comfortable in a group environment
- Play style and temperament are appropriate for our setting
- We can safely integrate your dog into our existing community
Our goal is not to accept every dog—it’s to maintain the right group dynamic for those in our care.
Vaccination Requirements
To protect the health of all dogs, we require the following vaccinations:
- Rabies (updated per veterinary guidelines)
- DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
- Bordetella (annually)
- Canine Influenza (annually)
- Leptospirosis (annually)
Vaccination records must be current and submitted prior to attendance.
Fecal Testing Requirement
To help maintain a healthy and safe environment for all dogs in our care, we require fecal testing every 6 months.
This testing screens for intestinal parasites, including giardia, which can be present even in dogs without visible symptoms.
A negative fecal test from your veterinarian must be submitted and kept up to date as part of your dog’s enrollment.
Health & Wellness Policy
For the safety of all dogs:
- Dogs showing signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, lethargy, etc.) must stay home
- If a dog becomes ill while in our care, owners will be contacted for prompt pickup
- Sick day absences may be credited for future use (subject to availability)
Maintaining a healthy environment is a shared responsibility between our team and our clients.
Spay & Neuter Guidelines
We generally recommend:
- Spaying by 8 months
- Neutering by 1 year
Exceptions may be considered for valid medical reasons with veterinary documentation.
Safety & Handling Standards
- All dogs are handled using positive reinforcement methods only
- No prong, choke, or aversive training equipment is permitted
- Dogs are grouped based on size, temperament, and energy level
Our approach prioritizes calm, safe, and structured interactions at all times.
Transportation (If Applicable)
For dogs using our pickup and drop-off service:
- Dogs are safely secured in individual crates within our transport vehicles
- Pickup and drop-off windows are scheduled based on routing and location
- Timing may vary due to traffic, weather, and daily logistics
Safety during transport is a top priority.
Boarding Eligibility
Boarding is available exclusively to enrolled daycare dogs.
To be eligible:
- Dogs must be actively attending daycare
- A trial overnight may be required prior to extended stays
This ensures dogs are comfortable, familiar, and well-adjusted within our environment.
A Community Built on Consistency
These requirements are not arbitrary—they are essential to maintaining the structured, relationship-based environment that sets Wiggling Tails apart.
By keeping our standards high and our enrollment intentional, we’re able to provide a safer, calmer, and more enriching experience for every dog in our care.
